"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something."
~ Neil Gaiman
Well, I'm hoping that you and I have successes too. And discoveries. And delights. And all that Neil Gaiman wishes for us after wishing we make "mistakes."
How did you feel when you read the first sentence? If you are a recovering perfectionist like I am, you may have felt a twinge of disappointment or resistance.
But let's go on to welcome all the good that is wished for us and not be afraid of mistakes.
May we make new things with courage and imagination. With hope, faith, and enthusiasm, may we try new things. With wisdom, may we learn and grow.
With beauty may we change graciously.
May we do all this and more as we impact the world
positively.
With love and joy,
Charlene
