"...we do carry an inner light, an inner compass and the reason we don’t know we carry it is because we’ve been distracted. And we think that the light is actually being carried by a leader or somebody that we have elected or somebody that we very much admire, and that that’s the only light. And so we forget that we have our own light – it may
be small, it may be flickering, but it’s actually there. And so what we need to do, I think, is to be still enough to let that light shine, and illuminate our inner landscape and our dreams – especially our dreams. And then our dreams will lead us to the right way."
~ Alice Walker
Today, let's shine our own light and respond to the pull of our own
compass.
Toward the goal of better seeing and appreciating our own light, consider this activity today:
Every time you admire someone, every time you see a quality in someone you perhaps wish you had, remind yourself that you would not be able to see that in another person if that quality was not in you.
The person you admire is reflecting yourself to you!
As this day goes on and as days pass, may your light ever brighten and help light the world.
With love, toward
wisdom,
Charlene
