"...deepening our emotional ties to nature is as vital to our well-being as the close personal bonds we pursue with family and friends."
~ Sarah Ban Breathnach
Perhaps you have read recent articles about how the Japanese government is encouraging its people to spend time in forests. Trees heal, they say. Research has proven it.
"We need the tonic of wilderness," wrote
Henry David Thoreau in Walden. "We can never have enough of nature."
For the next week or so, I'll be sharing healing insights, joyful uplifts, and hopeful reflections inspired while I was immersed in nature on St. John in the U.S Virgin Islands last week.
Thoreau also said, "Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads."
Let's aim to see as Thoreau did. Let's bring more heaven and healing into our lives and into the world.
Begin by
spending a few mindful minutes in nature today. Continue day by day. Increase the minutes as best you can.
Over the next two weeks, take time to better notice and appreciate the beauty of this earth.
Be alert. Intend to see with fresh eyes and an opened heart. Prepare to receive various blessings. Such
as?
"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts," wrote Rachel Carson.
May we all be strengthened.
Today and always,
Charlene
