TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us, or we find it not."

                 ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

We do carry it with us. Beauty is within us always. So why do we sometimes not see it?

Our little beach front room at Caneel Bay faced east. That wall was almost all glass, as was the opposite wall. Both the east and west window walls had ceiling-to-floor room darkening drapery for guests who wished to block the bright sunrises and sunsets.

Similarly, our inner beauty can be covered with blocking layers of hate, fear, despair and limiting beliefs.

We may or may not choose to block the sunrise in order to sleep late. But who among us wants to block recognitions of beauty by holding on to the heavy covers of hate, fear, and false beliefs?

Using love and compassion, let's pull back all that blocks life's beauty from shining upon us and our own beauty from shining in the world.

Joyfully,
Charlene
