"I'm a yarnaholic. That means I have more yarn stashed away than any one person could possibly use in three or four lifetimes. There's something inspiring about yarn that makes me feel I could never have enough."
~ Debbie Macomber
Are you scratching your head, wondering Why this quote?
It's presented here because when I first glanced at Debbie's quote, I read "yearnaholic," and I wondered.
Then, even though I saw that the word was "yarn" not "yearn," I still wondered about all the yearnings we have stashed
away over a lifetime. Or discarded.
I wondered about the ignored yearnings that may be whispering for our attention.
Maybe it's going on a Safari, or performing on stage, or learning another language, or dancing the tango, or swimming with dolphins, or being in a movie, or writing a book, or seeing the northern lights, or dabbling with paints, or making
peace with someone, or learning to knit, or...you know.
Let's listen to our yearnings. Some are soul needs and not passing wants or "pipe dreams."
Wisdom can show us the difference.
Perhaps today we can act upon a easy-to-fulfill yearning that would soothe our soul and uplift our spirits.
Or, maybe we take a baby step toward a deeper
yearning.
Look into voice lessons. Visit a travel agent, the library, consignment store, car dealer, bike shop, museum, art dealer, bookstore, or plant nursery. Or Google. Or seek counsel.
Begin. Somehow. Somewhere. There is energy, potency, and power in beginning.
Take a step.
With vision, love,
and faith,
Charlene
