TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"I wish I could show you
 when you are lonely
or in the darkness
the astonishing light of your own being."

                        ~ Hafiz

In case you did not catch the happiness virus yesterday, the love poetry of Hafiz is featured here again today.

If only we could see "the astonishing light" within ourselves and one another. How might we feel? How would we treat ourselves? One another?

Awed by the beautiful light, we might all fall down honoring one another according to Thomas Merton who, as you may recall, suddenly glimpsed the light in everyone around him while standing on a street corner one day.

Can you imagine this happening to you?

Even if we don't see the Divine Light, can we take it on faith that the Spark exists in all people, all creation? Can we begin to act as if we know this is so?

Today, let's try.

With reverence,
Charlene
