"I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances."
~ Martha Washington
Yesterday we heard from George. Today let's be inspired by something Martha said in a letter to a friend.
Despite the death of her first husband, the death of a teenage child, her second husband engaged in a war, and who knows what other private sufferings, Martha proclaimed her determination to live well each
day, with gratitude and joy.
We too know from experience that happiness or misery depends a lot on our dispositions.
Whatever this day brings, may we choose, like Martha, to live it hopeful and happy, with gratitude for life itself.
Lovingly,
Charlene
