TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope."

                            ~ Winston Churchill

It's true.
Love. Courage. Compassion.
All the great things are simple.
They can be expressed in one word.
Strength. Beauty. Faith.
But simple doesn't mean easy.
We must work to achieve them,
establish them, protect them.

As we remember Martin Luther King, Jr. today,
let's especially appreciate freedom and justice and not take them for granted.

Let's be inspired and encouraged by this courageous man who dreamed bold beautiful dreams and worked with faith and love for freedom and justice.

May his example strengthen our resolve to do what we feel called to do here. His words too:

"The time is always right to do what is right."

"We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope."

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

Like Dr. King, may we work toward our dreams, toward peace, and toward making this world a better place for all.

With love, faith and hope,
Charlene
