"One of the greatest reasons people cannot mobilize themselves is that they try to accomplish great things. Most worthwhile achievements are the result of many little things done in a single direction."
~ Nido Qubein
Typically, this
time of year many of us have grand visions for change in at least one area of our lives.
Let's keep our dreams big, bold, and beautiful. And let's nourish them with rich imaginings.
But our steps?
May they be small, but steady.
May we
do little things well, day by day.
With strength, faith, courage, love, and wisdom,
Charlene
PS - If you have time for more reflection on this, have you ever heard of The Three-Foot Toss?
It's both a principle and a teaching tool. The best way to learn The Three Foot Toss is to actually do it and experience it with your eyes, your body, your gut, and your head..."get it" kinesthetically.
Try it sometime. For now, just imagine it. Here's what
it looks like:
Short posts are placed three feet apart in a series to a distance away, say 30 feet.
Each person participating can choose how to reach the furthest post by tossing his or her ring onto posts. Before proceeding further, a tossed ring must circle the aimed-for post.
Many people will try for 6 ft. tosses. Some, for twelve. Some will even aim for the post 30 feet away, believing in taking chances. Mostly, those aiming far prefer to avoid the way of the turtle.
Whether you experience this literally or not, it helps to visualize it.
And, of course, the value is in realizing that continuous, three-foot tosses of a ring onto the series of posts set three feet apart will advance us
successfully to a distant end post, however far - 30, 60, 120...720 or more feet away.
But if some days we aim for 30 feet and miss, and some days don't toss at all, well...you get the lesson.
Let's go slowly and steadily, with persevering strength.
