"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the
heart, you'll know when you find it."
~ Steve Jobs
In honor of Labor Day, lets honor work itself. We all work, even if we don't have a job or a career or we are in between jobs.
There is always "work" to be done in all aspects of our lives.
I agree with Steve Jobs that we all deserve to work in ways that use our talents, special abilities, and interests and bring us joy. And may we each find that.
I also believe that while we are
seeking our dream work in the world, we can bring love and joy to whatever it is we are doing.
We've probably all heard the parable of the three stonecutters. Sometimes it is told as three bricklayers. In essence it is this:
Once there were 3 bricklayers. Each one of them was asked what
they were doing.
The first man answered gruffly, 'I'm laying bricks.'
The second man replied, 'I'm putting up a wall.'
But the third man said enthusiastically and with pride, 'I'm building a cathedral.
May we work with love and joy,
Charlene
