“How do I love thee?
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach...I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life..."
~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Beautiful!
But how do I love thee? How, how, indeed.
Chances are good that you're familiar with The 5 Love
Languages by Gary Chapman.
If you're not, or if you have forgotten the 5, they are:
Words of Affirmation
Quality Time
Receiving Gifts
Acts of Service
Physical Touch
We all show love and receive the message that
we are loved in different ways.
Let's discover the primary love language of our loved ones and then speak it to them. I'm especially interested in learning more about my grandchildren's needs. How do they best hear and receive the message that they are loved?
I may find it challenging to improve my limited understanding of French, Spanish, and Italian and to learn one more language so that my fluency is not limited to English.
But I believe I can readily learn to "speak" the 5 love languages.
How about you?
Loving learning,
Charlene
