"May you allow fear to soften and melt away."

"I've learned that fear limits you and your vision."
~ Soledad O'Brien
When I was diagnosed with advanced lymphoma, I learned that fear hindered everything, including healing.
I also learned that deep breathing, affirmations, prayer, meditation, music, aromatherapy, visualizations, and being in nature led to a softening of fear.
Whether a fear is related to health, a relationship, finances, safety, anything, it is wise to soften that fear. From a softened
state, it is more likely to melt away. And like solid ice becoming liquid water, fear can be transformed into faith, hope, and a readiness to hear wisdom's guidance.
Nearly every morning while going through cancer treatments, I performed a certain ritual. I continue to perform this ritual almost every time I feel fear about anything. The purpose of it is to anchor my intention to soften the fear and have it melt
away. You may wish to try this yourself.
I simply get an ice cube from my freezer and hold it in the palm of my dominant hand. As I feel the discomfort of it on my skin, I let the ice symbolize the fear. Then, as I set a sincere intention to allow my fear to soften and melt away, I place the ice cube in a small clear bowl, and just let it be.To enhance this ritual, I sometimes place the bowl of ice next to a candle.
I then go about my normal activities and return to the bowl when it comes into my mind. By then, the ice has become water. Almost always, my fear has softened too. Often, it is melted.
I then ask for a blessing upon the water and I use it to water a plant. As I do, I pray that all our fears be transformed into hope, faith, love, compassion, and
peace.
Toward healing for all,
Charlene
