TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”

                                 ~ Nelson Mandela.

Happy Independence Day, USA!

As we celebrate our becoming an independent nation, let's hope and pray for freedom and peace everywhere and live in a way that respects and enhances freedom for all, which is not always easy.

Consider what Adlai Stevenson said: My definition of a free society is a society where it is safe to be unpopular.

Ahh. May we always support such safety and never detract from it.

Along with celebrating liberty, may we wisely protect it too.

With reverence for life and equal rights for all,

Charlene
