"...the earth is full of thresholds where beauty awaits the wonder of our gaze."
~ John O'Donohue
In his book, Beauty, John O'Donohue writes a lot about reverence too.
"In order to become attentive to beauty, we need to rediscover the art of reverence," he says, and "...reverence includes the recognition that one is always in the presence of the sacred."
There is so much we don't yet know about nature, the aliveness
and awareness of it.
"Is it not possible that a place could have huge affection for those who dwell there?" Donohue asks.
With respect for such possibilities and a readiness to be surprised by beauty, let's aim to tread lightly and lovingly as we go about this day.
Consider taking a minute or two to walk directly upon the earth. If you do, as you do, treat every place you step as sacred and take each step with reverence. Notice what you notice.
Toward harmony,
Charlene
