TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito."
         ~ Dalai Lama

Funny yet true, like yesterday's mosquito quote.

But here's today's take-away:

It's true that we are each "only" one individual person, but there is no other individual exactly like us. And we can make a difference.

Using our particular talent, dreams, areas of interest, and circles of influence, the contribution we make matters.

Consider the other side of this too.

Remember the story about the child walking along a shoreline that is covered with beached starfish? She flings one out to sea, then another and another. An adult tells her that she will never we able to save them all so why make the effort? What difference does it make?

Tossing another one, she answers, "It makes a difference for that one."

Today, let's value ourselves and everyone we encounter.

With courage and compassion, let's be confident and caring as we use our gift of talent.

With love,
Charlene
