TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it."

                       ~ Edward Bok

Perhaps you know but perhaps you are wondering: who was Edward Bok and what did he do to make this world a bit better and more beautiful?

By trade, Edward Bok was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and editor of Ladies' Home Journal from 1889-1919. In character and spirit, he was a man who often heard the words in the quote above from his grandmother, took them to heart, lived by them, and repeated them to others.

A dreamer too, he is responsible for Bok Tower and Gardens, a place in central Florida where throngs of people go to relax and be renewed by beauty.

Today, let's reflect on the guiding words from Edward Bok's grandmother and allow them to nurture our dreams to make the world a better place.

Did one or more of your grandparents influence the way you live you by some guiding advice they gave? Or through a story? Or by their example?

What guiding wisdom would you like to give to the little ones in your life? To all children?

Today, let's listen to how wisdom is guiding us right now.

Also, let's do something - large or small - that brings beauty into the world.

Always with love,
Charlene
