"There can be no deep disappointment where there is not deep love."
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
Are you feeling deep disappointment about anything?
Although today's reflection touches upon
something political, it's not on the political level. It's higher and deeper than that. So please stick around for the meat of this message.
Not all, but many of us are experiencing deep disappointment about the United States withdrawal from The Paris Agreement.
When I saw this MLK quote yesterday, it offered a shift of perspective for me. Consider this for yourself.
Our love goes
many miles deeper than the disappointment, every disappointment.
Rather than rail against actions in the outer world and situations in our personal lives about which we are deeply disappointed, let's return our attention to the love we have regarding the issue - the earth, for example.
I don't mean we should stifle or deny our feelings. By all
means, let's be kind to ourselves. Let's respect and give expression to our feelings.
And then, when we are ready to respond or take action, let's do so with love, guided by wisdom.
We don't yet realize what powerful instruments for healing and positive advancements we can be when we act from love.
For health, peace, and the highest
good,
Charlene
