"The world is getting better,
but not in a straight line."
~ James P Gorman
Sociologist Kelley Miller says, "I see that the path of progress has never taken a straight line, but has always been a zigzag course amid the conflicting forces of right and
wrong, truth and error, justice and injustice, cruelty and mercy."

A few years ago a man making a documentary about happiness asked the question: Is the world getting better or worse? Among those he questioned were the Dalai Lama and the Queen of England. Both
leaders said something to the effect that, although appearances suggest otherwise, our world is getting better. And they cited some specifics about advances in the past 100 years related to social justice, education, treatment of children,
compassion, and respect.
Sure, we can readily see a lot of zigging and zagging and sometimes history's line-in-the-making appears to be is a crooked one that is spiraling downward.
Anticipating further regression helps only to the extent that it motivates us to contribute some of our time and talent to the
greater good.
Along with that, let's vision a positive future and help create it using our inner beauty.
