“I think we judge talent wrong. What do we see as talent? I think I have made the same mistake myself. We judge
talent by people's ability to strike a cricket ball. The sweetness, the timing. That's the only thing we see as talent. Things like determination, courage, discipline, temperament, these are also talent.”
- Rahul Dravid
I've said this before and I'll probably say it again and again: We need to think beyond our usual limited and limiting concept of talent.
Let's consider using a new word to help us think bigger. How about:
talentry?
Talentry can hold all the things we love to do, all the things we do easily, all the things we long to do as well as our natural abilities, developed skills, interests, leanings, and yearnings to make a contribution in the world. Talentry also holds our inherent gifts and how we use them.
Consider the breath and wide, the height and depth, the weight and lightness, and the brightness of your
talentry.
With gratitude and awe,
Charlene
PS - Yes, Today's Touchstone looks different.
It's double spaced as a wishful, prayerful symbol for expanding our thoughts, spreading our wings, and flying higher.
