However it may have been described and labeled throughout the ages - a "pillar," a power, a capacity, a virtue, a gift, a "thing with feathers that perches in the soul" - hope has been seen as valuable and powerful. 

As waking beings, may we cultivate and use this natural gift within us, especially when we see signs of despair in others and feel despair within ourselves.

As waking beings, may we trust in the deep good that is unfolding now, even in things that may appear troubling on the surface.

With hope - and faith - let's aim to experience and express hope today. It will make a difference within us and in the world around us.
