"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves."
~ C. G. Jung
Here's another thing that takes courage, which, of course, we have. It takes courage to say, "Where in me is that thing I detest in that person? In what way am I being pushy, overbearing, arrogant, insensitive, wimpy, a know-it all, a complainer - whatever I am judging as wrong.
It takes courage along with compassion to self examine and address what we
discover.
And let's focus on the flip side of this today too. Watch for what you admire in others.
Remember that whatever you see in someone is a reflection of that quality in you. You wouldn't be able to see the beauty, grace, talent - you name it - in someone else if "it" didn't exist in you too.
So, along with the qualities you've been judging as bad
or wrong, aim to better recognize in you all that you admire in others.
Embrace all that you are and give thanks. Give yourself a hug too. Remember that you are both a masterpiece and a work in process.
With joy and reverence,
Charlene
