"So go ahead. Fall down. The world looks different from the ground."
~ Oprah Winfrey
Is there something you want to do but are feeling afraid of falling down?
Who hasn't fallen down? My grandchildren fall down a lot because, at age seven, they are often running, climbing, and stretching themselves to new heights as they explore the world.
True, they sometimes cry. But usually they say, "I'm
okay," as they pick themselves up and run off.
Anthony did break an arm in one of those falls, so that time he didn't rise and run off. But during the weeks of healing, he learned to use his non-dominant hand in many ways and was proud of each accomplishment.
Like Anthony and Alexis, like you, like every human being, I too have fallen down,
cried, and picked myself up.
Let's be brave. Instead of letting fears hold us back, let's stretch to reach our dreams and ideals.
And if we fall? We'll learn from the ground and go on.
With strength and courage,
Charlene
