“There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. The true
courage is facing danger when you are afraid, and that kind of courage you have in plenty."
~ Frank L. Baum
Do you consider yourself a courageous person? I
think we've all been surprised at least once in our lives when we realized we have more courage than we previously thought.
Remember Baum's Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz? He's an example of how we can misjudge ourselves, thinking we lack something, when, day after day, we are actually using and demonstrating that very quality.
"Courage doesn't always roar," inspirational author Mary
Anne Radmacher reminds us. "Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.' "
Courage is plentiful in you and in me. Let's aim to recognize it in ourselves and others.
Through eyes of love,
Charlene
