"Empaths did not come into this world to be victims, we came to be warriors. Be brave. Stay strong. We need all hands on deck.”
~ Anthon St. Maarten
Empaths are the most sensitive among us, some feeling deeply not only for all who are hurting, but for all that is hurting in the natural world...human beings, animals, the trees and all plants, the seas, the soil, the air...all creation.
Some people judge
the highly-sensitive empaths as "too soft."
But while it can look like a trait of weakness to the less sensitive among us and sometimes feel like a burden upon those who are empaths, such sensitivity is a strength, a talent, a gift.
In fact, sensitivity - to whatever extent we have it - is a gift for each of
us.
Consider first our physical senses. Being able to sense the world through sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing gives us information, protections, and pleasures.
Consider next the capacity to sense with our hearts, to feel for fairness, for justice, for the well-being of one another.
Surely, this is something to be
respected, valued and cultivated in the world now: the gift of compassion, which we all have.
We may not have perfect hearing or eyesight or the most keen sensitivity, but with what we have let's be brave and strong in the midst of harshness in the world. Let's be warriors for dignity for one and all.
Strengthened with love and reverence,
Charlene
