"Should auld acquaintance be forgot?"
~ Robert Burns
How do we best treat the past?
What gifts shall we carry forward?
Consider this "Auld Lang Syne" song:
(With words that I have altered)
Let's take a cup of kindness,
And toast the days gone by.
As we celebrate the good,
And leave the rest behind.
May our hurts all be healed.
May we learn from all mistakes.
With love, compassion and wisdom
We can grow from every ache.
As we look now to the future,
The New Year's just three
days nigh,
Let's welcome what it brings,
With hopeful hearts and smiling eyes.
Compassion, hope and wisdom
Are great gifts for this transition season.
Love too, of course; love always,
For multitudes
of reasons.
*Dear Friends,
Now and then, for a day or two,
my writing comes out rhyming.
While some say it's charming,
Others find it quite alarming.
So,
tomorrow...
Even if my mind is still chiming
for lines of rhythm and rhyming ,
I promise to break free
of this silly sing-song timing
And write with normal designing.
Peace, love and laughter to all,
Charlene
