Remember yesterday's quote? Ruth Ann Schabacker said: Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons.
What if we really welcomed everything a day brings? What if we
trusted that there are gifts in every life experience?
We would experience more peace and joy. Probably better health too.
If you feel unable to embrace the "cold pricklies," you can start with a tiny willingness to soften your resistance to hurts.
I'm working on this myself, and I'd like to share something I do.
Whenever I stub a toe, burn a finger, hit a shin into a bed's foot board - have any small, non life-threatening physical hurt - I first notice my body's automatic tightening against the pain. I then deliberately soften around whatever hurts. Next, I breathe deeply and allow myself to fully feel the pain.
Amazingly, in a very short time, often just seconds, the pain dissipates and changes into an
"interesting sensation!"
I find this fascinating. And I'm aiming to carry this "soften and feel" approach over to emotional, mental and spiritual hurts.
Perhaps you already do something like it. If not, consider trying it.
And now, let's be grateful for another precious, once-in-all-eternity day and welcome all that it brings.
With love and enthusiasm,
Charlene
