Holocaust survivors like Elie Wiesel are among my strongest touchstones. The victims are too. All of them. But I am most inspired by those who chose love, saw beauty, and acted with courage and compassion while experiencing treatment by human beings that is almost unimaginable. They are among my heroes.
With our heroes in mind, let's make this a day in which we offer many smiles. Who knows how we might be uplifting a heart and honoring a soul when we do?
May every hurt, large and small, lead us to greater compassion and appreciation for love and beauty in ourselves and in all creation.
