"It is very necessary to have makers of beauty left in a world seemingly bent on making the most evil ugliness." ~ Thornton Wilder
We are all makers of beauty, potentially.
We don't have to paint, sculpt, sing, or weave to make beauty. Although we might.
We just have to let our natural, inner beauty be.
Like a brilliant-cut diamond, inner beauty has many light-reflecting facets. Courage, hope, and joy are among inner beauty's facets. All Twelve Gifts are. And there are others.
This perspective may sound sentimental or trite. But isn't it true?
Pay attention when your heart is open, when you feel empathy for someone, and when you are kind. When you are using any one of your gifts, notice the sense of beauty in you and around you.
There are always some among us who seem "bent on making ugliness," feeding fear and breeding hate. Instead of railing against them, let's make beauty by being our authentic, beautiful selves.
With love,
Charlene
