"I believe in living today. Not in yesterday, nor in tomorrow." ~ Loretta Young
I believe this too. But, honestly, I don't always live this. And sometimes I have to work on even "getting it."
Yesterday's quote was mainly about looking at the gains we're making, noticing our growth, and focusing on the positive. In my reflection I also wrote about looking forward, not backward. And then, while looking for today's quote, I come upon "Live for Today."
Have you ever questioned how we can stay in the present, Be Here Now, and visualize our ideal future?
I'm arriving at the idea that we can be in the present as we imagine and hold pictures of the future. In part it has to do with balance.
And, in my real everyday life, I'm working on that balance - being present and holding visions for the future, but not to the extent that I'm not experiencing life today. In the balance, I'm also working on not getting stuck in the past when I visit it to remember loved ones who have died, and when I recall
touchstone stories that help me now, and when I simply reminisce about some times that were.
I believe you know what I mean. And I believe we are all learning, mostly little-by-little and sometimes in big leaps, how to Live The Twelve Gifts.
With faith,
Charlene
