"I have to do something to make the world more beautiful. But what? The world already is pretty nice, she thought, looking out over the ocean." ~ Miss Rumphius in Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney
Have you heard about the just-beginning-up-and-coming rock-painting craze?
I painted these two rocks after dinner. I find this activity to be relaxing, meditative, and fun. Rock painting kept me from over snacking. I slept well. There are many more positives.
One thing people are doing after painting rocks is to "gift" them to people anonymously. You can leave one in front of someone's front door, for example. You can leave one on a park bench and on a co-worker's desk.
This next idea wouldn't be anonymous, but how nice it would be to place a pretty rock on top of a cash tip at a restaurant.
You can paint messages on the rocks too, such as "Have a great day" on the bottom or top. Or, Thank you, Peace, or Smile. The possibilities are endless. This could stir so much JOY for both the givers and receivers!
And, doesn't an increase of JOY make the world look, feel, seem to be, and become more BEAUTY-full?
Want to help spread this JOY-stirring, make-the-world- more-BEAUTY-full idea? If you are a "crafty" person, get some rocks and paint tubes. Have fun! Whether you paint rocks or not, pass on this idea. Share this email. Thank you!
Singing is a good idea too.
Singing...
Joy to the world...
Joy to you and me,
Charlene
