"I understand I am not the owner of my talent. I'm not the owner of anything. Everything I have is a gift from God. And even the *#z^/*! things that happened to me, that still happen to me, are gifts to teach me lessons and make me stronger."
~ Madonna
Today's quote is from Madonna's acceptance speech for her Billboard's Woman of the Year Award in 2016. Some of it was raw. But mostly it was real. I believe Madonna was sincere when she said that her talent and everything she has is a gift from God and that she thanks God for all the *#z^/*! in her life too.
It's one thing to say it, another to mean it, yet another to feel it, and still another to live our lives thankful for everything we experience, even the *#z^/*! stuff.
I'm not doubting Madonna. I'm acknowledging that it
takes maturing, deepening of our gifts, and practice that leads us to be authentically grateful for the *#z^/*! stuff.
Sometimes I'm actually fully there; sometimes I'm in the "believing-but-not-yet-feeling-it" stage. I believe we're all heading in the direction of being grateful for everything.
With faith for such wisdom,
Charlene
P.S. - The collage above is a symbol of looking for gifts in everything. Yesterday, I took photos of various
subjects and then looked at the photos through different filter effects. Let's look for beauty everywhere and gifts in everything today.
