So that's it. A green thumb is an extension of a loving, life-giving, "green" heart.
Patience, hope, and faith are also powerful ingredients in growing plants, as well as for raising children, renewing relationships, healing harms, and pursuing dreams. They make better soups, sauces, cakes, and breads too.
Love, patience, hope, and faith make everything better, so let's use them mindfully today in all that we do.

About the collage: For more than six months the stalk in the photo looked lifeless. My husband, Frank, had purchased it at a Farmers' Market and followed the "care" instructions. Many times during the hot, rainy summer he moved it here and there for shelter and ideal conditions. In the past two months he's been bringing it indoors and back out to
protect it from cold and return it to warmth.
Finally, tiny tips of green appeared at the top. For a few days we saw no further progress. But suddenly the moist pointy tips opened into tiny leaves and began to grow visibly day-by day.
If you've been waiting for signs of life and growth in something dear to you, keep the love, patience, hope, and faith flowing. Continue the tender care. Watch. Be ready. for the first signs of growth.
