"Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country." ~ Anais Nin
I'm getting an image. See it with me?
Two young children, a girl and a boy, are flying one kite in a breezy open field. Both are holding on to the one string with two hands.
Trailing down the kite's tail are small envelopes, attached by the children to look like bows. Each envelope contains wishes and prayers, intentions and goals, and visions and dreams for the New Year - yours and mine, and the children's too. Prayers for peace. Happy, healthy families. Respect and unity. A country renewed.
Suddenly the wind gusts and yanks the string which begins to slip through grip of four small hands. The children open their hands and watch. We do too, as the kite flies high and disappears in the sky.
We're not alarmed. Nor are the children. In fact, they're jumping with joy. We intended this to happen, and it did.
We wrote the hopes of our hearts and the yearnings of our souls. And we let them go, with trust and faith.
What comes back? In time we'll know.
Thank you for imagining with me,
Charlene
