Today's Sanibel photo feature is the American Beautyberry. Formally known as Callicarpa Americana, she's pretty stunning. But she's also low maintenance and easy-going, loving the sun yet happy in shade. This berry is sort of whimsical yet substantial too, providing sustenance for wildlife and nectar for butterflies.
In my imagination, I'm seeing the beautyberry as positive and self-assured, with her (that's my imagination too) inner love and goodness showing through to her outside as beauty.
The beautyberry can be a guiding symbol for us all: women, men, girls, and boys of all ages.
