"Let my soul smile through my heart and my heart smile through my eyes, that I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts." ~ Paramahansa Yogananda
Let's smile often today.
Thanks to a phone visit with a friend yesterday, I am starting a new smiling practice today. Marilyn told me that she always smiles when she is in her car and catches the attention of a person in another car. She said that the other person nearly always returns a smile. We can do this when we are stopped at a light, parking head to head with another car, or any time we are near enough to see one another. This is a simple yet potentially very powerful act. Thank you for sharing this,
Marilyn.
I know that when I connect with a "stranger" I am always uplifted to some extent. Sometimes, I am moved from feeling blue to very much in the pink.
With hope, joy, and love,
Charlene
PS - Hopefully, our smiles will spring from our souls and be rich, deep, loving and true. Healing too. But even if today's smiles are stirred by intention and facial muscles but don't reach our eyes nor start in our souls, our
smiles can be a gift to others as well as to ourselves. Wherever we are on the spectrum of feelings, let's smile and send caring thoughts to friends, to family, to neighbors, to strangers, to all. Amen.
