"Life isn't some kind of race. We all cross the finish line, sooner or later. You'd hate to get the end in sight and suddenly wish you'd walked rather than run, wouldn't you?" ~ Mary Alice Monroe
Wow, true! Why would we want to rush through any day, sometimes even wishing it away, eager to be done with something?
At age 69, the finish line does not seem to be in sight just yet - and I hope it's not - but I no longer have that sense, like we do in youth, that time stretches out so far ahead it is almost eternal for us. I'm aware now that every day is a precious one.
So I'm intending to slow down and walk more. Sometimes stroll. Sometimes hike. Cloud watch. Be more aware. Join me? Besides allowing us to better see beauty and experience joy, it's health-promoting and helpful for being in the flow.
Let's savor this day!
With love and reverence,
Charlene
