"To understand one's world,
one must sometimes turn away from it! To serve better, one must briefly hold it at a distance. Where can the necessary solitude be found, the long breathing space in which mind gathers its strength and takes stock of its courage." ~ Albert Camus
Yes, where? How? And when? We all need some solitude, silence, and breathing space. How much? If we don't yet know, it's wise to make
the time, find the place, tune in, and listen. Direction will come. So will gratitude. Joy follows gratitude, and hope often accompanies joy. Strengthened and perceiving more clearly, we'll be ready to take stock. How can I best use my talent in the world now? How best serve? How best be me?
Self kindness is a good way to begin
this seeking. That's why we practiced kind self-talk yesterday. How did you do?
Let's stick with that (forever) and expand our conscious kindness to all our conversations, especially when we encounter harshness, keeping in mind the big picture and the intention to maintain peace during this season of heightened emotions. Keep striving!
With love and
hope,
Charlene
