The featured word of today's quote is "courtesy." We know how to give it and how it feels to receive it. Let's act as if today is National Courtesy Day and our goal is to be courteous to everyone. According
to Joseph B. Wirthlin, "The true greatness of a person, in my view, is evident in the way he or she treats those with whom
courtesy and kindness are not required."
Let's be among the greats. Even if we go head to head with someone over different points of view, let's disagree with grace, still
respecting the person, even if we abhor his perspective. Civility and courtesy are not dead, nor out of fashion, nor are they signs of weakness. The cluster of high qualities
related to reverence may seem soft, but they are soft like water is soft yet can wear down rock and form beautiful canyons. Let's be like that, especially when we encounter people with views that differ from ours.
