"Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into the water, the actions of individuals have far-reaching effects."
~ Dalai Lama
Some would say that this pebble-ripple metaphor is over used. Maybe it is. But it's still a beautiful expression of truth that is under-appreciated and under-practiced, in my opinion.
Let's change this, at least for today, by becoming pebble-droppers.
First, if you're near a pond, actually drop a pebble in the water and observe the ripple effect. Or use your imagination and see this in your mind.
Next, set an intention to send ripples
of love, compassion, and healing energy into the world with positive actions. Have fun with this. See how many action pebbles you can drop here and there as you go about your day.
Remember that even seemingly small actions, such as being friendly, showing kindness, making eye contact, smiling, and offering help when we spot a need, can have far-reaching effects.
Our right actions might even make waves.
With hope,
Charlene
