Maya knew how to meet life's bitters and spice, sours and sweets. When handed lemons, she added more than water and sugar. More than flour and eggs. To the many sour things she was handed, she added zest and salt, passion and poetry, heart and hope.
We can do
that. When we're handed something sour, we can transform it. Not like Maya, of course. But like you. Like me. We might not make poetry. But we can, each in our own way, "repurpose" life's lemons.
In the spirit of a Sunday Brunch, here's an array of nourishments from Maya Angelou. Savor one or taste them all. Let whatever looks good to you, be good for
you.
