"Paint the walls of your mind with many beautiful pictures."
~ William Lyon Phelps
Let's hold images of beauty in our minds and envision good things unfolding. It will make a difference.
"We suffer more often in imagination than in reality," said Roman philosopher Seneca 2000 years ago. Isn't it time we put this wisdom to use? We know this in our hearts and souls. But we can get better at making it our natural, habitual, and default way of thinking. So let's practice. Really. Today,
let's "paint the walls of our minds with beautiful pictures." What will your positive pictures be?
Among mine will be the joyful faces of our grandchildren at their 8th birthday party. I'll use land and sea images from Sanibel
Island. I'll also imagine us moving toward appreciating that we are, indeed, one human family. Can you see the smiling faces of people of all ages, colors, creeds, and cultures. Maybe we'll be holding hands or dancing or drumming or singing or feasting. Certainly we'll be at peace, respecting one another.
Loving each other too,
Charlene
