"By loving and understanding animals,
perhaps we as humans shall come to understand each other.”
― Louis J. Camuti
It seems to me that when we open our hearts to an animal, another person, a tree, a flower, or anything in nature, something becomes clearer within us. Along with deepened love and compassion, we come a little closer - or maybe a lot nearer - to experiencing how we are all connected.
Let's intend to open our hearts to loving more widely and deeply today. Let's also be alert to how we can make a difference.
With love,
Charlene
PS - Besides writing about love and compassion, in this touchstone, I want to introduce Princess, a ten-year-old cat with a need. She'll be with us for a time, maybe forever.
"It is possible that deep in our psyches,
there is a simple and profound recognition of our similarities:
that we all see, hear, touch, smell, eat, rest, play, mate, raise young, and die – shared experiences by all living beings on earth,"
- Joyce Wang
