Each of The Twelve Gifts have been proclaimed by someone as "the greatest."
Strength, beauty, courage, compassion, hope, wisdom, faith and reverence - these, as well as joy, talent, and love have been heralded.
Friendship is among the most valued by some. Thankfulness is another. And the capacity to be thankful is like a key that opens us to other gifts, especially joy. Let's use that key today by being grateful for freedom and democracy. Consider what Jon Voight said:
"Democracy is an extraordinary adventure. It's difficult, full of daring and risk and danger. But it's the greatest gift we have."
Let's honor this gift of democracy with gratitude for all who died while serving to protect freedom and democracy.
