"When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves." - William Arthur Ward
This happens when we seek to see the goodness in everything, in all of creation as well as in people.
Yesterday morning, as I was on my way to our community pool, I noticed the sky brightening with shades of pink and orange. I stopped my car to watch. Although I knew sunrise was coming, I felt a thrill of love when that first white sliver of sun appeared and how, in moments, the full golden circle rose over the horizon. Feeling grateful, I got back in my car to continue to the pool.
A minute or so later, when my car crested a hill, I was stunned and brought to greater awe when I saw the extraordinarily large moon - larger than I have ever seen it - setting opposite from the sunrise.
It seems to me that, when we expect to see something good, as well as when it takes us by surprise, something very good and beautiful in us resonates and hums like a tuning fork.
Today, may the best in us hum along with the goodness of life as we see it in many expected and unexpected ways.
Let's watch for it.
With joy,
Charlene
