"Helping, fixing, and serving represent three different ways of seeing life. When you help, you see life as weak, when you fix, you see life as broken. When you serve, you see life as whole. Fixing and helping may be the work of the ego, and service the work of the soul." - Rachel Naomi Remen
It's more natural to say, "Can I help?" than "Can I fix?" or "May I be of service?"
But in every action - be it giving a helping hand to someone who has fallen, fixing a worn wire, bringing food to a family in need, caring for a child - and every other example you can think of - we can maintain an honoring attitude.
Let's aim to see ourselves and others as whole. Then, let's aim even higher, to sense the sacredness that's present.
Whether we are using our arms, hands, feet, eyes, minds, voices or vehicles to be of service, let's be guided by our hearts and souls.
Toward reverence,
Charlene
