"Laughter is one of my favorite things. When you have a really good laugh, you feel great afterwards." - Bill Engvall
"Feeling great afterwards." That's the litmus test for favorite things. And our favorite things are even more powerful than helping us feel great, which is pretty great!
When groups of people are asked to name their favorite things, their answers are often a reminder of how different our tastes can be. (See the partial, suprising list below.)
However, what our favorite things can do is something we have in common.
Using and doing our favorite things not only help us through bee stings and feeling sad, they help us see solutions and opportunities in problems. They help us be resilient. They lead us to joy and hope. Let's go there.
With love,
Charlene
Sampling of Favorite Things
Laughing, cooking, learning the story behind things found at flea markets, playing music very loud, long conversations over coffee with someone, changing the look of a space with throw pillows, performing on stage, grocery shopping, making garlic oil, bringing people together, singing, visiting comic book stores, the sound of the ocean, running, watching and playing baseball, mayonnaise, going to the gym, making sushi,
watching TV, hibernating, being with people, being alone, puppies, being a father, playing the guitar, meditating, yoga practice, being in nature, being home, riding a bike...and let's not forget "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens!" What's one of your favorite things? Use it or do it today!
