"...It's what you do with what happens to you." - Aldous Huxley
Remember the parable-like story of the man alone in his house during a flood? He prays for help. A rescuer in a rowboat comes by and urges the man to step in. The man declines and continues to pray. The water rises and a motorboat comes by. The man again refuses the ride. The rising waters force the man to his roof. A helicopter arrives and a rope is dropped. The man refuses to climb. He dies.
When the man meets God at the Pearly Gates, he asks, "God, I prayed for you to save me. Why didn't you answer my prayers?"
God said, "Good man, I send a rowboat, a motorboat, and a helicopter. Why did you refuse the help I sent?"
Today, and every day, with wisdom and faith, let's become more mindful and appreciative of the blessings, healings, guidance, and all manners of help that come our way.
Let's also allow ourselves to row and steer the boats, pilot the chopper, and be the help, however we can, to be of service to anwered prayer.
With faith and wisdom,
Charlene
