“I no longer agree to treat myself with disrespect. Every time a self-critical thought comes to mind, I will forgive the Judge and follow this comment with words of praise, self-acceptance, and love.” - Don Miguel Ruiz
"What the world needs now is love, sweet love," goes the song; and it's always true. And the sweet love needed includes self-love, self-forgiveness, self-compassion, and self-kindness.
True self-forgiveness is deep and unconditionally loving. It's reverent and wise. We move beyond forgiving ourselves for being bad to forgiving ourselves for judging ourselves as bad.
This doesn't mean we let go of values. We, in fact, nurture values when we lovingly evaluate actions and aim to do things in better ways as we accept and embrace ourselves as human.
With love, of course,
Charlene
