Hi there,
Now and then I make a mistake. Now and then? Ha! Surely I make mistakes every day.
I'm sending this second email today to acknowledge a mistake in this morning's reflection.
Yikes! I read it again and found another one! Did you catch them?
IT SHOULD HAVE READ:
...let's NOT allow not seeing - or fear - keep US from taking steps toward our personal dreams...
NOT:
...LET'S ALLOW not seeing - or fear - keep UP from taking steps toward our personal dreams...
I'm writing, in part, because I'm a recovering perfectionist. Maybe you are too. Apparently there are many of us. If you're among us, I hope you're making progress with self compassion.
In the past, seeing a mistake in something I had sent out would cause me to feel sick to my stomach. Now, I may feel a mild upset in my body as I express frustration with a gentle expletive like "Darn" or "Drat" or "Oh, heck!"
Maybe you didn't even catch the mistakes. Our brains often "auto correct" and we see the right spelling and use of words.
The first point is:
“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” - Dalai Lama
Let's aim to make others and ourselves happy and more peaceful.
The second point is:
Be not afraid.
Let's take steps with courage. If we make mistakes or even fall on our face, let's stand up, applaud our efforts, and keep going.
With love, compassion, and faith,
Charlene
PS - I may have even made a mistake in this message. I seem to be making more of them...which means more opportunities to practice you-know-what.
PPS - Wishing you a beauty-full day!
