"...So let the sun shine in, face it with a grin. Open up your heart and let the sun shine in..." ~ Stuart Hamblen
If you're a baby boomer, chances are, like me, you heard the song "Let the Sun Shine In" during the 50's. Maybe you heard it growing up regardless of your era.
Whenever I heard it as a child, I automatically felt a bit happier and more inclined to be loving and kind.
At some point we realize that when we let "the sun shine in," brightness flows out from us too, amazingly without any loss of light for us.
What does this have to do with now?
Well, as singer Alicia Keys says, "There's too much darkness in the world."
Millions of us - billions, I imagine - agree and we want to drive the darkness out.
"Only light can do that," said Martin Luther King, Jr.
Deep inside, we know this.
Alicia Keys says she wants to bring "a certain light to the world."
Deep inside, we want this too.
"A certain light."
Another song comes to mind:
This little light of mine
I'm going to let it shine.
Let's let our little light shine and bring it into the world in our own certain way.
With love,
Charlene
